DCE matriculate her 2024/2025 students .
Management of Benpocon Nig Ltd, the Consultancy Unit of Benue State Polytechnic, Ugbokolo, is poised to reposition the company for efficient service delivery. This was made known by the Deputy Rector, Academic, Dr Emmanuel Ameh, KSM at the matriculation ceremony for the newly admitted students of the Division of Continuing Education (DCE) which took place on Friday, 28/03/2025 at pre ND Hall of the school.
Dr. Ameh who represented the Ag. Rector, Engr Dr Emmanuel Barki, said the appointment of a new General Manager, Mr. Ejeh Augustine, merger of centres to enhance operational efficiency as well as the decentralization of examination centres, are some of the measures put in place to cut cost and bring services closer to the students. He therefore charged the students of DCE to reciprocate management decision by paying their fees promptly.
He stated that management will not lose track of the vision of institution which is to offer qualitative education driven by Excellence and Relevance, which is also in line with Governor Alia’s transformative leadership anchored on effective service delivery.
Dr. Ameh warned students on the consequences of indulging in misconducts as the school has zero tolerance for vices. He congratulated the matriculants and welcome them to the oldest state-owned Polytechnic in North Central Nigeria.
Earlier, the Ag Registrar, Mr. Ezekiel Tamita, represented by Mr. John Oko, while declaring the ceremony opened, remarked that matriculation ceremonies mark the official start of a student’s academic journey and charged them to make good use of the opportunity offered to them to study in the school.
The highpoints of the ceremony was the administration of matriculation pledge by Barrister Ejale Joseph, the signing of the pledge and individual/group photographs.
Old and new Students of Makurdi and Otukpo centres turned out in large number to be part of the ceremony.
Members of the Academic Board including the Dean, DCE, Engr Ukwenya John, Dean, School of Business and Management Studies, Dr. Onuh Jonathan, Dean, School of Art, printing and Design, Mrs. Ajii Mercy, as well as some Heads of Departments and Coordinators of Makurdi and Otukpo centres, Mr. Ioryem Thaddeus and Mr. Adayi Emmanuel graced the occasion.
Meanwhile, the first semester Examination of the DCE for the 2024/2025 academic session started on Saturday, 29/03/2025 in the two venues: Makurdi and Otukpo.
It will end on Sunday the 13/04/2025.
