The Benue State Polytechnic, Ugbokolo, came alive on Thursday, September 18, 2025, as the finals and closing ceremony of the Rector’s Sports Championship Cup Competition drew staff, students, and invited guests into a vibrant atmosphere of sportsmanship and celebration.
⚽ Business vs. Marketing – A Thrilling Final
In a keenly contested final match, the Business Department triumphed over the Marketing Department with a narrow 3–2 victory, after a pulsating encounter that kept spectators on edge until the final whistle.
Both teams showcased exceptional talent, resilience, and teamwork, making the clash one of the most memorable in the history of the competition.
👏 Dignitaries and Generous Support
The event was graced by distinguished personalities, including the Chairman of Ado Local Government Council, Engr. Sunday Otse, who commended the Polytechnic management for sustaining such a unifying sporting tradition.
As a mark of his support and encouragement, he donated ₦500,000 to the competition—a gesture warmly received by the entire Polytechnic community.
